Photo isn’t mine, but I found a set of these rear lamp guards during a recent junkyard pillage. These were a factory Land Rover option and to find them today is quite rare. I picked them up on half off day for $6!
Obviously I couldn’t leave there without them, but they’re a little rusty and could use some sanding and paint.
I’m trying to decide if I like the astethic or if I should put them up on eBay. What does oppo think?
Here’s what the rear end looks like currently

If your personal taste is dependant on what other people think, you should get rid of them regardless.

Taste an aesthetics aren’t necessarily the same thing.

They’re great and can save your lenses from branches that flip back and slap the truck if you’re in a wooded area.

Apples also aren’t airplanes. If OP likes a certain anesthetic, that’s their taste.

Love it. Keep

1) you do you. I think that’s most important here.
2) those can be functional as Bloody pointed out.
3) i find them to look appropriate on RRC’s.

Either way, people here may have good reason to like them, or good reason not to like them. It matters.

Morphine doesn’t work on me. No effect.

If you have a RRC, you NEED THOSE.

NEED! I have a similar view even though I’m like 50/50 on if I think it looks good. Plus you have to drill to mount them

What’s more important to you- the protection they offer, or how awkw ard it’s going to be to clean around them?

I find this generation of Range Rover to be ugly. I also find that light guard to be ugly.
So that light guard won’t hurt the looks at all!

I love them on cars!

I’ve never heard a worse take haha. The only car so beautiful that it was displayed at the Louvre

Eh, this thing gets cleaned about twice a year with something more than a hose

I do like the look a lot. But you have to drill to install? If so I don’t think its worth it..

Not a big fan, but hey, what do I know?
That Rover is CLEAN! How come I don’t see any rust? What is this magic?

A TON of welding, grinding and painting. I was pretty porous when I got it.

I like em
Does your junkyard have a price list but cashiers just kind of say “yeah whatever that’ll be six bucks” like mine does?
![]() 01/10/2019 at 19:31 |

Yes but now you need to find similar equipment for up front!

Well, great damn job.

I always liked them, I didn’t realize they needed holes drilled though, that changes the math a bit when you can’t easily reverse the change
